Scientists Uncovers The Missing Link Chemical Which Could Have Led To The Origin Of Life

The origin of life is still a mystery for many of us. Many research studies are being conducted on regular basis to identify the origin of life on Earth. Many theories and hypothesis are being proposed by prominent researchers. Finally, the researcher team led by Ramanarayanan Krishnamurthy reveals a chemical compound which has led to the origin of life on Earth.

The researchers said that the chemical compound called diamidophosphate (DAP) led to the origin of life on this planet. This is the missing link due to which life originated. The origin of life theory has always led to the debate since many factors are considered which varies according to the researchers.

No one actually knows where the life existed, however, the researchers simulate different artificial environment which shows the origin of life. The study related to this can be seen in the journal Nature Chemistry. The research was conducted by The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) which states that DAP is the missing link which may have led to the origin of life.

There are basically 3 main chemical compounds which are lipids, peptides, and nucleotides. These play a key role in building the structure, functioning of cells and passing on the genetic information. These three chemical compounds have led to the evolution of different biological processes. The study revealed that even sugar plays a major role in maintaining the survival of life.

Furthermore, the DAP compound was studied with 2 other compounds like water and imidazole to confirm the origin of life. The reaction of this chemical with water led to the origin of building blocks called RNA even if the temperature was varying. Imidazole also led to the development of RNA chain structure.

Thus, the DAP is the key chemical behind the origin of life on Earth. The researchers are further looking to work with geochemists for further study. The presence of this chemical during the origin of life may be due to the minerals which existed there.
